Armed with an old 60s Nikon film camera, I set out on the rainiest day of the year in Florence, hoping to capture real moments of locals and tourists in the great equalizer of weather conditions. After shooting a roll, I soaked it in lemon juice for a week before developing it, curious of the results, but hoping for something to mar the images.
What I got was a series of darker, grainy, blurry, somewhat overexposed in places, chemical stained photos that I love. Florence, I think, albeit bittersweet and a little sour, is sometimes refreshing and best experienced in the rain.
