Nostalgic for No Good ReasonĀ is a series of plaster key reliefs dangling from nails within a numeric cataloging system and corresponding titles. Numbers paralleling age reference cataloging systems within museums, where everyday items of antiquity are restored and protected. Within this context, personal everyday objects, keys, are crafted in plaster, creating reliefs that explore ideas of preservation while serving as both liberatory and oppressive forms. These suspended reliefs seek to question what one chooses to hold on to, and what consequences this preservation has.
Firenze, Italia, Fall 2016, plaster, acrylic paint. Displayed in the Santa Reparata 3D Gallery in December 2016.
