The application process for Global Communications Intern with Cross-Cultural Solutions in spring of 2016 required the creation of a video with the title, "My Happy Place."
After thinking for a long time about what the very notion of what happiness is and where I would ever consideration to be my happy place... I decided a happy place doesn't exist. Rather, happiness is fleeting, but also what makes life worth living. Happiness is moments that pass by before you know it.
With that in mind, I decided to use old video clips I'd shot during a family road trip in 2014 and an empathetic approach to storytelling to illustrate my happy place.
The result? A melancholic look at happiness through the lense of nostalgia.
(I was offered and accepted the internship in Dharamsala, India for summer 2016!)
